we dont need no religion

when karl marx said that religion is the opiate of the masses he meant that people find solace in religion.however his obsevasation in contemporary times can be interpreted as religion having drugged the minds of people.religion has numbed the senses.people have lost touch with how and why religion originated .for one thing no religion originated to establish its supremacy over other religions.nature had to be interpreted in the earliest times when humanity originated.and the doings of nature was explained away as the working of a supernatural being.when the gods cried we had rain!in time more complex theories developed.for example one supreme being multiplied to 320000000 gods for the hindus.caste system was born.right were taken away from some to make others powerful.exploitation showed its ugly face.religion also originated to keep men on the right track.a god fearing man would not do evil reading would not usurp other people's rights.however all the humane qualities of religion lost ground.intermediates came between god and man.man has lost out in the fight between the gods for supremacy.humanity is sacrificed in the alter of temples and mosques.i was shocked to read that the new pope did not encourage condoms!that is as good as commiting suicide in this day and age of STDs!isnt religion suppose to make better humans out of people.where did we go astray?arent we better of without religion then?i would suggest we go back to believing in one supreme being, burn the religious text and write new tenets based on humanity.life over bloodshed anyone?
